Product description
The Calcatta PVC Wall Panel is a high-gloss, white marble-effect wall covering with grey veining: a 2 mm PVC sheet, Lumina’s entry-level marble panel.
Calacatta marble is an icon of luxury interiors; this panel gives you the same cool, elegant surface for a fraction of the price and weight of stone. The 2 mm thickness is a real advantage on smaller areas: it is more flexible, easier to cut, and follows a slightly uneven wall better than thicker sheets.
Technical features
- Sheet size: 2800 × 1220 × 2 mm, 3.42 m² per sheet
- High-gloss, smooth marble surface, grey veining on a white base
- 100% waterproof and mould-resistant; the 2 mm sheet is especially light
- Heat-resistant up to 80 °C; for indoor use only
Installation
The thin sheet can be cut accurately even with a utility knife, so kitchen splashbacks and cut-outs around switches and pipes are easy to do yourself. It is fixed with adhesive to skimmed walls, plasterboard or, with a bonding primer, to old tiles; the joints are sealed with clear or white sanitary silicone.
Cleaning
Wipe the high-gloss surface to a shine with a microfibre cloth and water with a little washing-up liquid. Do not use abrasive or scouring products, as they can scratch the gloss.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 2 mm and the 3 mm panels?
The 2 mm Calcatta is more flexible, lighter and more affordable; the 3 mm sheets are stiffer and give an even more stable surface over large areas. Functionally, in how waterproof and easy to clean they are, there is no difference.
Is it a good choice for a kitchen splashback?
Yes, it is one of its most popular uses: behind an electric or induction hob it is heat-resistant and grease wipes off easily, and with no grout lines there is nothing to turn grey.
How big is a sheet, and how many do I need for an average splashback?
A sheet is 280 × 122 cm (3.42 m²); for a typical 60 cm high kitchen splashback strip, one sheet is enough in most kitchens.
You can see the Calcatta panel in person at the Woopla showrooms in Budaörs and Békéscsaba, or ask for a sample; we deliver from stock with the manufacturer’s warranty.
